Cape Town Self Catering Accommodation

Just over an hour's drive from Cape Town, Welbedacht Nature Reserve offers a stunning retreat in the country. Amply equipped, self catering cottages tucked away in between the Reserve and orchards, offer complete privacy and a tranquil environment. Spectacular views of the Tulbagh Valley and the surrounding mountains combine with the cries of the fish eagles and the sounds of nature.

Private plunge pools and braai areas, open fireplaces for winter nights, and large verandas for relaxing on all cottages combine to make this a special and memorable escape.

Accommodation

Our beautifully decorated cottages nestle snugly in amongst the Fynbos, bordering on orchards offering complete privacy and seclusion.

Orchard Cottage has two double, ensuite bedrooms. Two extra single beds can be easily set up in the lounge area for extra guests/children. The main bedroom has a large fireplace for cosy winter evenings. The open plan kitchen/dining area/lounge has a large fireplace and doors opening out onto the shady veranda, with its private, built in plunge pool. The cottage is fully equipped for self catering and there is a braai available.

The Stone Cottages each sleep 2 adults and offer an open plan bedroom, lounge and kitchen area opening out onto a shady veranda with views over the Valley. The cottages have fireplaces for cosy winter evenings, and a refreshing plunge pool on the deck for your own private use. The cottages are equipped for self catering including a built in braai outside.

Eagle Cottage sleeps 2 adults and 2 children in bunk beds in a smaller children's bedroom. There is a fireplace inside and a private built in plunge pool on the shady veranda. The cottage is equipped for self catering, including a built in braai outside.

All towels, linen and firewood are provided in each cottage.

For the fishermen, Welbedacht Nature Reserve offers trout fly-fishing in one dam, Bass, Tilapia and Cape Kurper in the other. For the adventurous there are walks through the nature reserve (which joins up with the Winterhoek Mountain Reserve) as well as mountain biking, bird watching and swimming in the dams. Horse riding and wine tasting are available on adjacent farms. Tulbagh town is only a 5 minute drive away, and offers a good selection of restaurants and bars, as well as art and craft shops, museums and national monuments.

Adjacent to the Reserve, The Blue Butterfly, our beautifully renovated and restored barn, is the perfect setting for yoga retreats, workshops or special occasions. We can assist with the planning, hosting and catering of your event - please contact us for more details.

Orchard Cottage:

R895 per night for the unit

The Stone Cottages:

R495 per night for the unit

Eagle Cottage:

R695 per night for the unit.

Payment & Cancellation Policy
Guests are requested to pay a non refundable 20% deposit of the total amount due, in order to confirm a reservation.
The balance of payment is due no less than seven (7) days prior to arrival at Welbedacht.
Should the reservation be made less than seven (7) days prior to the date of arrival, the full amount is payable in order to confirm the reservation.

Cancellation policy:
Please note that the 20% deposit is non-refundable.
In the case of Payment-in-full, Welbedacht will refund up to 80% of payments made, provided we are able to re-rent the reserved unit for the same applicable period.
